Nero Burning ROM 2015 lets you burn CDs, DVDs and Blu Ray discs on your Windows PC. The software was first released in 1997, and it has evolved in line with users' changing demands over almost two decades.

The latest version supports several incarnations of Windows, from Vista right through to Windows 8. (There's also a sister product for Linux machines.) The software can also burn the high-definition Blu-Ray format, as well as its predecessor, DVD. Nero Burning ROM 2015 supports AVCHD, a format developed primarily for camcorders.

In a bid to provide a complete media management solution, Nero Burning ROM 2015's developers have included additional features like disk erasing, file conversion and the tools to rip files from audio CDs. The program's compatible audio file formats can be expanded using codec packs.

Advanced Use

Nero Burning ROM 2015 is not a simple disc burning solution, and beginners will find the interface overwhelming. The developers make no apologies for this, since it's advanced users that come back to the Nero brand time and time again.

Nero Burning ROM 2015 has taken steps to deal with the challenges of physical disk damage and media theft or loss. Support for technologies like SecurDisc is a major plus point; it protects data from physical damage by duplicating it on one disc, and it can also be used to encrypt. DiscSpan (file splitting), overburning and AirBurn (burning to disc straight from an iOS or Android mobile device) are the kinds of features that experienced users come to rely on.

If you need a simpler solution, Nero Express is worthy of consideration. Remember, though, that Nero Burning ROM 2015 does come with comprehensive help (including a mobile app dedicated to tutorials), so don't be afraid to try it if you need those extra features.
